Lesson 2

Hey there,

How did your first lesson go? i hope u enjoyed the chord! Ripped it out of it´s creative chage and used it in every way possible.

Today i got a lick for you... it was my first lick that i learned to play. I would tell you in which issue of GT magazine it´s from, but the thing is i left all my old magazines at my parents house when i moved out. SORRY.

The lick is a nice smooth country ending lick... you can play it in many different ways, so don´t limit yourself to what i´m gonna post up. Try and be creative!!

Download this file and open with Gpro 5.

The numbers on the top of the notes are for the fingering of your freting-hand. The tricky part, when i first was learning the lick, was at the end of the bar 1 when you have to play the 2 twelve frets under each other. For that you should barre the 2 twelves with your pinky!

This lesson will improve your finger streching tremendously. For beginners i would adivce you to try this lick out at half it´s tempo(speed), and when your hand starts hurting stop playing cause you can hurt yourself.

Oh and for starters who are reading tabs or standerd notations for the first time. The curve above the numbers or the notes mean that the notes have to be played in a legato (the word in italian means tied together) style. That means you have to either hammer-on for a higher note on the same string, or pull-off for a lower note on the same string.

If you still don´t understand hammer-ons and pull-offs then i will post an article 2morrow called Lesson 2a explaining in detail what they are and how u can practice them.

HAVE FUN!!!
PS.: For more advanced players don´t forget to try different variations on this lick.
